Leader Alan Jarrett and Deputy Leader Howard Doe (who is also Chairman of Medway Development Company) spoke at this afternoon's ground-breaking event for Chatham Waterfront - which will provide 175 new apartments.
Officers of the Council, directors of MDC (including Councillor Adrian Gulvin) and the local press all joined to welcome the development, which will see the delivery of a high quality mixed commercial and residential scheme. This development goes hand in hand with the work already undertaken to further our ambition for Chatham to become our city centre, including the Chatham Placemaking project and our investment in the Pentagon Shopping Centre.
The first block of the programme is expected to be completed in mid 2022.
