Councillor Alan Jarrett, Leader of Medway Council and Medway Conservative Group, said:
“Prior to receipt of the Labour Group’s email I had already discussed this issue with Tracey Crouch MP, to consider ways in which Medway Council would be able to support our most vulnerable families.
I am extremely pleased that we will be able to utilise funding from the Government’s one off emergency assistance grant, distributed through Citizen’s Advice Medway, to ensure that those eligible for this support will still be able to access free school meals for their children over the half term period.
This is just one brilliant example of the Council and the voluntary sector working in partnership for the benefit of our residents, and I would like to sincerely thank Citizen’s Advice Medway for their sterling work to help support approximately 6000 children across Medway.”
