Councillors Martin Potter and David Carr, of Rainham North, and Councillors Gary Etheridge and John Williams of Strood Rural, were delighted to attend the Eid community day celebrations with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in Gillingham.
The association - whose motto is 'Love for all, hatred for none' - invited the community to the Nasir Mosque in Richmond Road to learn about the faith group and their belief in an inclusive society. The Ahmadiyya Association also do a lot of fund raising for charity, including Demelza House and the Poppey Appeal locally, and also organised last year's peace walk through Medway.
David and Martin are long term friends of the association, and would encourage residents to take the opportunity to attend future community days.
