Conservative councillors were pleased to attend the Freedom of the Borough of Medway presentation on Thursday (25/04/2024), along with councillors from all of Medway’s political groups, which recognised the hard work of NHS staff at the Medway Maritime Hospital.
At a Special Council meeting in October 2023, councillors agreed to award honorary freedom of the borough to recognise the contribution of the hospital’s staff to the community. The Conservative Group are proud to have supported this decision at the meeting.
The Conservative Opposition joins the whole of Medway in paying our thanks and gratitude to all healthcare professionals in our communities and were pleased to see more than one hundred people at last night’s event at the Rochester Corn Exchange where the honour was officially awarded.

“It was great to see the Medway NHS Foundation Trust awarded freedom of the borough last night. This is something that is well deserved given the long-term service of the Medway Maritime hospital to Medway residents”
