Councillor Turpin was last week delighted to personally congratulate the three winning gardeners awarded First, Second and Third place in the Council's Medway Blossoms competition.
Selected by the public via online voting on the Council's Facebook page, in First place was Louise Young, with her colourful and inventive garden in Lordswood. Her garden features lots of recycled items, and since winning the competition now also includes a very festive pumpkin display. Louise was closely followed by exceptional displays from Mandy Watkins from Twydall in Second place, and Tina Alum from Rochester who claimed Third.
The summer competition, which has received entries from across the Council's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, provided a fantastic opportunity for green fingered residents to celebrate and take pride in their creations - all of which contribute to making Medway an attractive place to live.
Councillor Turpin, as well as Mayor of Medway Councillor David Wildey, was pleased to present prizes of £50, £75 and £100 of Dillywood Garden Centre vouchers to acknowledge the hard work of the winning entries.
