On Saturday, the Leader of the Opposition Cllr George Perfect, Cllr Gary Etheridge and Rt Hon Kelly Tolhurst were pleased to attend the Hoo Peninsula Heritage Festival featuring Aveling 200. There were plenty of activities on offer, celebrating the Hoo Peninsula’s heritage and the work of Thomas Aveling. The event was opened by the Deputy Lieutenant Jools Holland OBE DL, and featured live music, stalls and a funfair for all to enjoy.
Speaking after the event, Cllr George Perfect, Leader of the Opposition, said:
It was an enjoyable day at the inaugural Hoo Peninsula Heritage Festival featuring Aveling 200 with my super colleague Cllr Gary Etheridge and the Rt Hon Kelly Tolhurst.
A great family event over two days. A very well done to all involved - opened of course by the brilliant Jools Holland OBE DL!
