Following recent announcement of the transfer of North Kent Dermatology Service away from the current provider, Councillor David Wildey, Chairman of Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, said:
“Medway Conservatives will always protect the interests of Medway people and patients first and foremost, and therefore take a great interest in any decision relating to the delivery of services to our residents.
North Kent Dermatology treats or manages skin conditions, including rashes, lesions, changes to moles, and skin cancer, covering Medway, Swale, Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley. It is regrettable that this change in provider will be the second in the last 14 months for the North Kent Dermatology Service, although we are of course sympathetic to the rationale behind this decision that has been provided by the CCG.
Moving forwards, Medway Conservatives look forward to effectively scrutinising the new provider to ensure the very best standard of care is provided to patients. We also hope that the Kent and Medway CCG will offer all necessary support to the provider in order to ensure the success of the service and facilitate the best continuity of care for dermatology patients in the future.”
