Next week at Full Council, Shadow Cabinet Member Councillor Wildey will be bringing forward a motion on behalf of the Medway Conservative Group following the decision of Councillor Tris Osborne MP and Councillor Lauren Edwards MP to remove the Winter Fuel Allowance from vulnerable pensioners.
Previous Medway Conservative MPs voted repeatedly to maintain and strengthen the Winter Fuel Allowance with the knowledge that it played a crucial role, especially in the colder winter months.
The Medway Conservative Group has launched a petition to save Winter Fuel, we urge as many people as possible to sign the petition to put as much pressure on the Medway Labour MPs to reverse this decision, medwayconservativegroup.org.uk/winterfuel.
The Group also welcome cross party support from the Independent Group, Independent members, as well as the Medway Labour Group on this motion, to show vulnerable pensioners living in Medway that they are not alone.
