Cllrs. Gary Etheridge and John Williams are committed to local community engagement and have nothing but praise for those active members who give up their time to promote and support others.
The 27th All Saints Scout Group, based at Frindsbury Green, is one such group and is very active in providing a programme for young people between the ages of 6 to 18. The Group has a very dedicated Leadership Team who work tirelessly to provide adventurous activities through their two Beaver Scout Colonies (age 6 – 8), two Cub Scout Packs (age 8 – 10.5), and a Scout Troop (age 10.5 – 14).
In the recent past, the 27th All Saints Scouts have even been able to send Members to World Jamboree’s in Thailand/Japan and Sweden/Portugal.
Cllr. John Williams said, “We are really proud to work with local community organisations and charities who help support the residents of Strood Rural and other areas. We are always ready to assist and promote such groups whenever we can. We are more than pleased to also be able to support them financially from our Ward Funds.”
Cllr. Gary Etheridge said, “By presenting the group with this cheque, they will be able to continue as a group supporting young people to get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps. Excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, whilst allowing them to be creative and learning new exciting outdoor skills and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that members can gain to recognise their achievements”.
