Councillors Kemp, Potter and Aldous were this week pleased to attend the joint school council meeting of St. Margaret’s Infant and Junior Schools as part of the joint Council's Road Safety Working Party. The Conservative Councillors joined governors, residents, parent representatives, school Council representatives and teachers to discuss how best to protect children and their families on the journey to and from the school.
The meeting was a great success, and Medway Conservatives would like to sincerely thank all in attendance for their valuable input - in particular the school Council representatives, whose behaviour, ideas and proactivity were exemplary.
Councillors Kemp, Potter and Aldous look forward to positive action being taken, with the below having been raised at the meeting:
- The road safety team will be looking into reinstating the crossing patrol.
- The Council will look into the possibility of lines/signs in the area.
- Councillor Kemp shared the parking hotline number : 07718130962 where local residents can phone and report illegally parked cars.
- Awareness was raised of the local council website where you can upload photos.
- Councillor Potter stated that the council are working on a new app for reporting dangerous parking – watch this space!
