Councillor Mark Joy will be one of many men with both a passion for football and a desire to lose weight taking part in the new Man Vs. Fat Football League coming to Strood Sports Centre.
Medway Council, in partnership with A Better Medway and Medway Sporting Legacy, are proud to partner the league which will see men with a BMI higher than 27.5 combine regular weight check-ins across 16 weeks of football fun. Uniquely, the league is decided not just on points won, but pounds lost! Every player is in the same situation and wants the same thing - to enjoy football, lose weight and get healthier - presenting a truly inclusive pathway to becoming more engaged in sport.
Pictured, Councillor Joy is already excited to be a part of the action, and enjoyed meeting with John Hatchett (Medway Council Sports), Ben Gallon (Man v Fat Football League), Tessa (Medway Council, Healthier Medway) and the two coaches who will be running the league, both of whom work for Medway Council Sports.
