Walderslade's Councillor Adrian Gulvin, Portfolio Holder for Resources, was delighted to in November join Gillingham FC and, alongside Medway Council's 'A Better Medway' team, acknowledge Monday the 25th November as White Ribbon Day and the '16 Days of Action' following up until the 10th December.
White Ribbon day provides an opportunity for us all to make a stand against domestic abuse, with the wearing of a White Ribbon signifying never taking part in, condoning or staying silent about violence against women.
On the 16th November, during the Gills home game against Lincoln City, players warmed up in White Ribbon t-shirts and a bucket collection was taken. Councillor Gulvin felt it was fantastic to be a part in raising awareness of this crucial issue and to make clear Medway Council's zero tolerance approach to all forms of domestic abuse.
