The leader of the opposition, Cllr Gulvin attended the Transgender Day of Remembrance service, where the Transgender flag was raised at Gun Wharf to show solidarity with Medway’s transgender community. Over the last year it was unacceptable that 392 people lost their lives over 40 countries due to anti-trans activity and discrimination.
In a spirit of unity, the Conservative opposition stands side by side with our Transgender community recognising the importance of inclusivity. Medway is for everyone, and all communities should feel safe and be able to enjoy life without fear of persecution or discrimination.
The Conservative opposition stands by our commitment to stand up for all of Medway residents regardless of identity to achieve a better Medway for everyone, only then we will see Medway’s full potential. Speaking on the matter Cllr Gulvin, leader of the Conservative Group said,
“It is unacceptable that people around the world are the victims of persecution, here in Medway the Conservative opposition remain committed to tackling all forms of discrimination and persecution.”
